Dr. Comfort Uwadiae is the Founder of Opt2Restore, the wellness and consulting division of Opt Physical Therapy Rehabilitation PLLC. With over 12 years of clinical experience, she has practiced across a wide range of healthcare settings, including ICU/CICU units, acute care hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics and homecare. Much of her clinical training was completed at Montefiore Hospital and Catholic Home Care, where she developed a deep foundation in patient-centered care.
Raised in a family of healthcare professionals spanning nursing, medicine and care coordination, Dr. Uwadiae developed an early appreciation for the power of interdisciplinary collaboration in promoting dignity and independence. Born and raised in Bayside, Queens, she began working as a physical therapy aide at Professional Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy in Whitestone during her early high school years. Her passion for rehabilitation continued through college and into her doctoral education.
Dr. Uwadiae holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences with a concentration in Physical Therapy and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). Her decision to pursue physical therapy was grounded in a strong belief in its transformative role within healthcare—offering patients a clear path to improvement through movement, education and compassionate care.
Through Opt Physical Therapy Rehabilitation PLLC, Dr. Uwadiae provides licensed, Medicare-billable mobile physical therapy services aimed at restoring function, enhancing mobility and empowering independence for adults managing orthopedic, neurologic, oncologic, cardiac, vascular or chronic health conditions.
Her wellness-forward division, Opt2Restore, offers services including home safety consulting, aging-in-place planning, community reintegration support, ergonomic assessments (for both home and workplace), virtual recovery coaching and comprehensive wellness programs. This branch of her practice serves individuals, families, caregivers, employers and organizations seeking holistic and proactive solutions to long-term health and safety.
Dr. Uwadiae is deeply involved in her local community in Hewlett, where she resides with her family. She actively volunteers as a PTA class mom and serves as treasurer for SEPTA, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to supporting families, education and inclusive community programs. Her community service reflects her belief that empathy, service and human connection are essential in every aspect of life.
She holds advanced certifications as a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS) from The Back School and an Executive Certificate in Home Modifications (ECHM) from the University of Southern California’s Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, highlighting her commitment to delivering evidence-based, functional solutions that promote safety, accessibility and quality of life at home and in the workplace.
