Quick answers about the free 15-minute call and what happens after it.
What happens during the free consultation?
A short phone call, about 15 minutes. We ask what is going on, what you want to get back to, and where you live, then tell you honestly whether in-home physical therapy, care transition support or a home safety visit fits, and what the next step would be.
Is this a physical therapy evaluation?
No. It is an introductory call only. If physical therapy is the right fit, the evaluation is a separate first visit in your home with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Does the call cost anything or commit me to anything?
No. The consultation is free and there is no obligation to book anything afterward.
Can I book for a parent or someone else?
Yes. Many calls come from adult children, spouses and caregivers. Book the time with your own details and tell us who the care is for in the notes.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Not to schedule this call. In New York you can see a physical therapist without a referral for the first 10 visits or 30 days under Direct Access. After that, Medicare and some insurance plans may require a physician’s order, and we can coordinate with your doctor.
Is in-home physical therapy covered by Medicare?
Physical therapy is provided through Opt Physical Therapy Rehabilitation, PLLC, a Medicare Part B provider. It is outpatient therapy delivered at home, not home health care, so there is no homebound requirement. Home safety and aging-in-place services are private pay.
What areas do you serve?
In-home physical therapy is available across Nassau County, including Hewlett and Woodmere. Care transition support also reaches Suffolk County and New York City. Tell us your town on the call and we will confirm what is available at your address.
