Who Performs Your Assessment
Every assessment is conducted personally by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy with more than fourteen years of clinical experience across intensive care, inpatient rehabilitation, and home-based care.
Independent Recommendations
Opt2Restore accepts no commissions or referral fees from contractors or equipment vendors. Recommendations remain independent and focused on the individual’s safety, mobility, accessibility, and goals.
Paying for the Work
Funding Pathways Worth Exploring
Opt2Restore consulting services are private pay and are not billed to insurance. Some programs may help fund the modification work itself, equipment, or related accessibility improvements.
Medicare & Medicare Advantage
Original Medicare generally does not cover home modifications. Some Medicare Advantage plans include supplemental benefits for grab bars, bathroom safety devices, non-slip flooring, or in-home support.

Veterans Benefits
VA programs such as HISA, SAH, SHA, and TRA may help qualifying veterans pay for medically necessary home improvements or larger accessibility modifications.
Eligibility and maximum grant amounts vary and should be confirmed directly with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Medicaid & Waiver Programs
New York Medicaid waiver programs, including NHTD and TBI waivers, may fund environmental modifications for eligible participants. Managed Long Term Care plans may also authorize certain changes.
New York State Programs
Access to Home, Access to Home for Heroes, and RESTORE may provide financial assistance for accessibility improvements, emergency repairs, and health or safety concerns.
USDA Section 504
USDA Section 504 may provide repair loans or grants to qualifying very-low-income homeowners in eligible rural areas.
Insurance, HSA & FSA Accounts
Some long-term care insurance policies reimburse home-safety assessments or modifications. HSA and FSA funds may be eligible when supported by appropriate medical documentation.
A written professional assessment is often required when applying for funding and can help document the medical, mobility, and safety reasons for recommended modifications.
